Last night, the Isle of Wight First Principals Chapter 8847 hosted a Dine-a-Master-Mason evening at East Cowes.The Chapter was honoured to have the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Second Provincial Grand Principal and the Third Provincial Grand Principal as guests for the evening.After conducting the business of the Chapter, it was closed and Brethren were admitted to witness a demonstration of the "Why the Royal Arch" lecture, given by members of the H&IOW Provincial Grand Stewards Chapter. On Wednesday 31st May, the Second Provincial Grand Principal, EComp Chris Davis and the Provincial Team, made an official visit to Brook House Chapter 8606 at Botley.Before handing the Sceptre back to the MEZ, EComp Chris presented a 40 year certificate to Comp Peter Haslop and thanked him for his service to the Royal Arch.A well supported visit then witnessed a superb Exaltation ceremony for Brother Jonathan Perry, led by MEZ EComp Rob Wilson.A superb festive board followed to end an enjoyable vivit to Brook House Chapter.In the photo, the Second Provincial Grand Principal and his team, lined up to enter the Chapter. ... Yesterday, EComp Mike Groves was presented his 40 Year Royal Arch Certificate by IOW Group Rep, EComp Brett Clark. Due to medical reasons, Mike is unable to attend his Chapter anymore, so Brett and Albany Chapter Almoner, Comp Roger Poynter presented it as his home. He received his 40 year certificate from Craft a couple of years ago.Mike was Exalted into Yarborough Chapter back in 1981 overlapping in 1993 with membership of Albany Chapter to chalk up over 40 years.Mike has been retired for many years having worked at Wightlink, mainly based at Fishbourne on the Island.
